YMCA England supports and represents the 121 YMCAs in England helping them transform communities.
We give YMCAs a national voice, by speaking with government, key policy makers and national media. As a representative body, we are able to advocate for the needs of the most vulnerable young people in England.
We support YMCAs by promoting high standards of working, sharing best practice, fundraising on their behalf, partnering with them to pilot new projects, and providing training opportunities for their staff and volunteers.
Each YMCA is an individual, self-governing charity that affiliates to YMCA England. Through this affiliation, YMCAs become part of the World Alliance of YMCAs.
YMCA England became a registered charity in 1962. We are also a company limited by guarantee and a registered social landlord. YMCA England Housing website gives information to residents of our housing schemes in 29 locations around the country.
We run YMCA Dunford House conference centre, set in 60 acres of woodland near Midhurst, West Sussex, offering excellent facilities in the peaceful atmosphere of a country house.
We have a main office in the City of London, where the majority of our staff are based, and there are additional administrative offices across England.
Over 350 staff and around 800 volunteers work from our nationwide network of more than 150 charity shops and warehouses. Find out more about YMCA shops.
