At the YMCA, we help young people develop the social, personal and vocational skills that are essential for increasing employability and finding and keeping a meaningful job.
We offer NVQs, basic numeracy and literacy training and preparation for training programmes where young people can explore their motivations and develop their own learning plans.

YMCA Training is a national charity and one of the UK's largest voluntary sector training providers, working with people of all abilities, ages and backgrounds to enable them to take control of the direction of their lives.

YMCA Fitness Industry Training
Established in 1984, YMCAfit are one of the UK's leading trainers of fitness professionals. YMCAfit have developed the largest portfolio of fitness training products available in the UK. As a charity, YMCAfit is guided by the belief that every member of society should be able to access the health benefits of regular physical activity.
YMCAfit offer courses for gym or studio instructors or personal trainers and a range of courses for already qualified fitness instructors to develop their career further.
Informal Education
We also recognise the importance of informal education. We know that by taking part in informal activities, reflecting on them and learning from experiences, young people gain skills and confidence that are just as important as those obtained through formal education and the world of work.
The YMCA works in partnership with schools across England, providing informal services which complement formal education and we are a major provider of vocational training for young people, especially those facing personal challenges or who are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.
