Disbelief, shock and a huge helping of humbleness filled The Institute of Contemporary Arts on Monday 24 October as we recognised the outstanding achievements of those people that make the YMCA amazing. BBC Radio 1Xtra's Gemma Cairney hosted the third annual Youth Matters Awards and was joined by special guests including; YMCA President the Rt Hon. and Most Rev'd Dr John Sentamu, Archbishop of York, and Colin Williams, the great-great grandson of YMCA founder George Williams. President of YMCA England, the Most Rev'd Dr John Sentamu, Archbishop of York said: "The young people and staff receiving their awards have all demonstrated outstanding achievements during the last year. Every finalist has showed extraordinary courage, determination and commitment to transforming their lives and the lives of others in their community. As president of YMCA England, I am delighted to have been able share and celebrate these incredible journeys at this year's Youth Matters Awards." Huge congratulations are due to the award winners and finalists, and thanks also to those YMCAs who helped to make the event such a great success! This year's winners and finalists
