YMCA England Director up for national award

Paul Smillie, Director of Movement Democracy at YMCA England, has been shortlisted for the 2012 Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) Company Secretary of the Year Awards.

Paul will go head-to-head with two other nominees in the not for profit category. The winners will be announced as part of the Excellence in Governance Awards at the Brewery, London on 14 November.

Ian Green, Chief Executive of YMCA England, said: "We are delighted that Paul had been shortlisted for this prestigious award. It acknowledges his commitment to good governance and the promotion of democracy in our federal organisation. He is highly regarded across the YMCA and is one of our unsung heroes."

Simon Osborne FCIS, ICSA's Chief Executive, said: "Members of the judging panel were most impressed by the high calibre of entries this year. All those who have been shortlisted should be justly proud of their achievement."

The ICSA Company Secretary of the Year Awards recognise the achievements of individuals and teams in the field for their contribution over the previous 12 months.
