Central YMCA was established in 1844 and is the world's first YMCA. 

From their HQ in the heart of London, the charity works at local, national and international levels.  The charity champions the benefits of physical and creative activities and how they can lead to a healthy mind, body and spirit. 

Central YMCA is involved in all aspects of health based activity from training and qualifications to direct delivery and advocacy. 

The charity is made up of the following operations:

• YMCA fit - A leading national provider of training and education services for the fitness and exercise industry and more broadly around activity for health.  Established in 1984, to date YMCAfit has trained over 80,000 students.

• Central YMCA Club - The club is Central London's largest health, fitness and activity centre with over 6000 members and it has recently benefited from a massive £2.6m investment.  The club is home to a wide range of classes and exercise referral programmes.
• CYQ - Develops and awards fitness qualifications which are delivered through a range of institutions including private training providers, schools, colleges and universities.
