Now is the time YMCA’s Youth Matters Awards really starts to heat up! The next exciting stage of the process is in full swing with online voting now open! This means you get to help decide who takes home each of the coveted awards. Make sure you cast your all-important vote before midnight on Wednesday 22 August.
To make the process as fair as possible, please note that voters are entitled to one vote per category. The results from the vote will be collated and added to scores given from our panel of judges to decide the finalists and overall winners. Each nominee has an inspiring story to tell, from Young Achiever of the Year to the new Young Campaigner Award.
A big ‘thank you’ goes to all the teams who submitted 124 incredible nominations this year. A total of 51 nominees from 27 YMCAs will now be voted on so please encourage your staff, volunteers, media and local community to take part. We are calling on you to help us create a buzz on your social media networks using #YMCAYouthAwards and let everyone know that now is the time to get involved.
In addition to the public vote, winners of two further awards – the We Believe Award, sponsored by Sir Alan Rudge, and the Red Triangle Award, are still to be decided and will be announced on the night.
The glittering awards ceremony is taking place on Friday 2 November at the exclusive 8 Northumberland in central London. This will include a drinks reception, three course dinner and performances from YMCAs across the country.
