The Knitting Network, an online knitting retailer, selling yarn and patterns worldwide, supports a different charity important to its customers every month, with YMCA England and Wales benefitting throughout August in recognition of International Youth Day (Friday 12th August) and this year’s theme of Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages.

Together with their customers, The Knitting Network have raised an incredible £1013.80 for YMCA across the last month.

Alongside fundraising to help YMCA England and Wales support even more young people to belong, contribute and thrive in their communities, The Knitting Network has also highlighted YMCA’s Youth Services Campaign. With a £1.1bn cut in youth services funding over the past ten years in England, customers and the public can sign YMCA’s petition and call on policymakers to help save youth services.

Amy Last from The Knitting Network said, “Each month, we support a new charity through checkout donations. Our amazing customers top up their orders to the nearest £1 in their thousands, and at the end of the month, we match the total to double the amount raised. We’ve raised money for some incredible charities since we started and feel very lucky to have been able to support the amazing work of YMCA to mark International Youth Day on 12th August.”
