After a week of activity, the Be Real campaign launch culminated with a glittering Body Confidence Awards at the House of Commons.
Hosted by Radio 1 DJ, Jameela Jamil, with a range of high profile presenters including paralympian, Stef Reid and TV presenter, Gok Wan, the awards were attended by key influencers within the campaign’s three core areas, health, education and media and advertising, as well as key charities, partner organisations and campaign ambassadors.
Ten awards were presented in total with winners chosen for their impact on improving body confidence, whether this was through a grass roots approach, reaching under-represented people, challenging perceptions of beauty or igniting debate and seeking to mainstream diversity.
