YMCA responds to the result of the EU referendum and the UK’s decision to leave the European Union
Denise Hatton, CEO of YMCA England, the national council of YMCAs in England and Wales, said: “The result of yesterday’s referendum will bring about a changing landscape to the United Kingdom, our role within the world and our priorities at home.
“The impact of the UK’s decision to leave will be felt most by young people and, as such, their voices should now be critical in shaping the future direction the country takes.
“Regardless of people’s opinions of the European Union, it afforded a vast array of cultural and learning opportunities to young people. As we move forward, we must ensure that current and future generations do not miss out.”
